This project formed Phase 6 of a major refurbishment programme to properties within the Victoria Housing Estate in Riverdale, Belfast, alongside one additional property located on Benson Street, Lisburn. The works were undertaken on behalf of Apex Housing Association and involved comprehensive upgrades to 32 properties in total—31 houses and bungalows in Andersonstown and 1 dwelling in Lisburn.
The scheme focused on bringing the existing housing stock up to modern standards in terms of energy efficiency, safety, accessibility, and internal living quality. The works were extensive and included a combination of internal remodelling, full mechanical and electrical upgrades, structural improvements, and external enhancements.
As part of the scheme, 2 dwellings were given a full energy retrofit as part of a pilot scheme for Choice Housing. The additional works included removing grounds floor and installation of insulated ground floor, external wall insulation, new windows, energy efficient M&E upgrades including solar installation and installation of mechanical heat recovery and ventilation systems.
