Decorative refurbishment and structural restoration works to Grade B1 listed Victorian villa.
This project involved the decorative refurbishment of Navigation House and the restoration of its associated outbuildings, located at No. 148 Hillsborough Road, Lisburn. Navigation House is a Grade B1 listed Victorian villa built in 1866, notable for its polychromatic brickwork and well-proportioned three-bay, two-storey design.
The works included internal decorative upgrades to the main house and the refurbishment of the rear stable block and courtyard. The stable block and stores, arranged around an enclosed courtyard, were structurally underpinned, with brickwork repairs, new rainwater goods, and new floor slabs installed throughout.
The first floor of the stable block was rebuilt, with temporary propping measures implemented during construction. A new single-storey structure was constructed within the enclosed courtyard, converting it into a usable internal space, complemented by new courtyard gates and curtain walling.
